If You Have A Water Drinking Habit You Will Love BPA Free Bottles

BPA free bottles are an essential health choice for active and health conscious people who need a regular drink of water throughout the day

What is BPA anyway?

Its longer name is Bisphenol A, and it is one of the essential ingredients in the production of plastic. BPA is an organic compound produced from condensing acetone with phenol. It is a building block of several important plastics and plastic additives. Millions of tons of BPA are produced each year for this purpose. The plastics of which BPA forms an important part are used in many food and drink packaging applications, including water bottles. Almost all the water that is shelved in disposable bottles in supermarkets and grocery stores is contained in plastic vessels that have BPA. Indeed, it is almost impossible to tell if a particular container is BPA free, unless of course it is not made from plastic.

The dangers of consuming BPA

As early as 1938 BPA was shown to have chemical properties similar to estrogen. Estrogen is responsible for the growth and development of female sexual characteristics and for reproduction. It is therefore a chemical that the body produces naturally whenever it is required. The danger in consuming BPA comes from the intake of unnecessary chemicals that the body simply does not need. Studies, which compared BPA free controls with samples that had been exposed to BPA have shown beyond any doubt that BPA has a number of very harmful effects. BPA is believed to cause some cancers, autism, genetic damage, miscarriage, brain defects and even childhood obesity. Even consumption at really low levels are understood to cause hyperactivity, learning disabilities, early onset of puberty, increased diabetes risk, and age-related neurodegenerative diseases.

Because it leaches out of the plastic from which disposable water bottles are made, there is a great danger in continued use of plastic water bottles that contain BPA. The need to take water regularly as part of an active, healthy lifestyle is understood by many people. A water bottle is perhaps more essential than the stationery on a desktop in millions of offices, and will accompany many on outdoor outings, or regular jogs. If you take regular trips to the gym, or workout regularly even at home, taking water is an essential part of the workout routine. It would be to the great benefit of many to understand the dangers that are posed by disposable water bottles and to find a safer drinking alternative.

Is there any protection from BPA?

Trying to identify the right plastic for drinking water is a difficult task. The best way to find safe drinking bottles is to steer clear of any plastic bottles altogether. The good news is that there are modern manufacturing methods that are providing solutions to meet the growing need for safe bottles. These methods do not rely on oil as a raw material and are therefore free of the dangers associated with oil production, and with the harmful effects of BPA.

If you love a regular drink of water throughout the day, and you are looking for a method of carrying water that doesn't put your health at risk, then it is essential that you begin using BPA free bottles made from metal. Because they are reusable, they also address many other aspects of maintaining a greener and safer environment.
